There’s no stopping BAR 1661: just one week after winning Innovator of the Year at the 2025 Irish Restaurant Awards, BAR 1661’s ‘We Call This Power’ cocktail menu has been named one of the Top 10 Cocktail Menus in the World at the 2025 Spirited Awards.
BAR 1661 features alongside bars from Sydney, Singapore, Miami, Bangkok, Mexico City, Edinburgh, Barcelona and Oslo for the prestigious World’s Best Cocktail Menu Top 10 accolade, presented by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation in New Orleans.
BAR 1661 in Dublin 7 was recognised for ‘We Call This Power’, a 28-drink celebration of Irish poitín, Irish drinks, and Irish producers

The We Call This Power cocktail menu is built on BAR 1661’s orbit of community, partners and collaborators. Cocktails featured include the bar’s iconic Belfast Coffee (€10),, made with Bán poitín, cold brew coffee, cream, demerara and nutmeg, White Oak (€15) made with Egan’s Vintage Grain Irish whiskey, Lost Irish whiskey, pear, fig, white port, sour grape, lemon peel and cinnamon Parts Unknown (€15), made with Bán poitín, Don Julio tequila, grapefruit, pineapple, mulberry, lime and chilli, and Round Towers (€15), made with Glendalough gin, Micil poitín, aquavit, kiwi, lemon sherbet and celery.
Located on a quiet corner just off Capel Street, BAR 1661 is celebrating its sixth year in business, hot on the heels of the opening of its sister bar, The Sackville Lounge, in April.
